April is one of the busiest months for Fort Lauderdale. Not only is it Spring Break, but there are tons of events and happenings all over the area as the warm spring weather finally settles in for good.

One of the best day trips for groups of any size is the Sawgrass Recreation Park Everglades Airboat Tour. Make your way deep into the interior of America’s largest unspoiled wilderness area and come face to face with some of nature’s most amazing animals, including plenty of alligators, wading birds, snakes, and panthers.
Another great nature outing is the Bonnet House Museum and Gardens, which features orchid greenhouse tours on the second Tuesday of every month. The Bonnet House greenhouses contain more than 1,200 different types of plants on a guided tour that explains how orchids are bred and cultivated.

If music is your thing, you are in luck because April features a number of different musical festivals and concerts.
From Friday, April 7, until Sunday, April 9, the Tortuga music festival fundraising event benefits the marine conservation. Some of country music’s biggest acts are scheduled to perform, including Luke Bryan, Darius Rucker, and Brett Eldredge.
On Thursday, April 6, some of Fort Lauderdale’s finest young musicians will perform at Bonnet House’s Young Artist Music Series. The event will feature wine, cookies, coffee, and of course plenty of music under the stars.

On the second Saturday of every month the Ritz-Carlton’s Burlock Coast restaurant hosts a farmer’s market featuring local vendors. The event is held on the hotel’s oceanside veranda and includes fresh produce from some of South Florida’s best family farms.
